SIXTH FORM ADMISSIONS

We welcome students applying to our Sixth Form from within and external to The Elms Academy.

The qualifications entry requirement to study at Level 3 is 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grades 9-5, including English Language and Mathematics.  Some subjects require a Grade 6 or 7 in certain GCSE subjects.

Our A level and BTEC subjects are always under review. Please see our Sixth Form curriculum page for more details about our offer.

Key Dates For September 2024 Admissions

Tuesday 16th July 2024 ‐ Sixth Form Keeping in Touch Breakfast


This is a chance for external applicants to reconnect with The Elms Academy team here on site or visit us for the first time. Meet new friends over free breakfast, participate in some workshops and experience a small taste of the enrichment we offer. Full details will be shared via email.


Thursday 22nd August and Friday 23rd August 2024 – Sixth Form Enrolment days


Final places for the Sixth Form and subject choices will be confirmed on a first come, first serve basis at our enrolment days.

Doors will open for external applicants at 11am – 2pm on Thursday 22nd and from 9am – 12pm on Friday 23rd.

Please note we have received a record number of applicants this year so strongly recommend you arrive as early as possible on Thursday to secure your place and preferred subject choices. It is important to note now that you will be need a copy of your GCSE results and latest school report as well as proof of identification and address to enrol.

  • We recommend speaking to your school now if you don’t already have a copy of a report.
  • If for some reason you are unable to attend enrolment days in person, please contact us before the end of July for guidance.  


Wednesday 4th September 2024. First Day of the New Academic Year


Following confirmation of your place and subject choices at our enrolment days, this will be your 
first day at your new Sixth Form. We will begin with a welcome assembly at 8.30am then spend most of the day with your peers and new form tutor in an induction.
