Seventeen Year 9 students have successfully completed their Duke of Edinburgh Bronze expedition!
Setting off from Broxbourne in Hertfordshire, they followed the River Lea all the way to Tottenham’s Markfield Beam Engine, camping overnight at Gilwell Park, Chingford
Along the way, they navigated using only maps and compasses, cooked meals on camping stoves, and carried all their own kit. No shortcuts. No directions. Just teamwork, determination, and a lot of perseverance.
They pushed through challenges, stayed positive, supported one another, and proved exactly what young people can achieve when they step outside their comfort zone (and yes — survive without constant tech! 😄).
A huge well done to all students involved.
Special thanks to Mr Agyemang, Mr Boakye, and Ms Hasan, who not only supported the expedition but went above and beyond — including giving up a birthday weekend to make it happen 👏
