A Level Results 2025

This summer, Year 13s have been gaining the grades they needed to secure high-quality places at some of the UK’s most competitive and sought-after institutions. This includes two students who are taking up places at the University of Oxford, among a host of students who will be joining Russell Group universities this autumn.

Arian, who achieved straight A*s in Maths, Further Maths and Physics, has gained a place at Jesus College, Oxford to read Physics. Meanwhile, Mariza will be joining Trinity College, Oxford, to read English and French after being awarded an A* in Psychology and EPQ along with As in French and English Literature.

Student destinations 2025

Abdullahi, who achieved A*s in Maths and Further Maths as well as an A in Physics and will now be taking up a place at Imperial College London to study Computing.

Thuc, who is heading to King's College, London to study Computer Science after achieving an A* in Maths and As in Further Maths and Physics;

Ned, who achieved an A* in History and As in English Literature and Religious Education and is taking a gap year to gain work experience before attending university next year.

Bianca, whose three As in History, Psychology and Sociology mean she will now be King's College, London to study Psychology and Criminology with a year abroad.

Maisie, who also achieved straight As in History, Psychology and Sociology and has secured a place to study Law at The University of Edinburgh.

Katherine, who achieved an A* in Spanish, an A in Sociology and a B in English Literature. Is also now taking a gap year. 

Kelly, achieved an A in Biology, an A in History and a B in Chemistry and has secured a place to study Anthropology and Archaeology at Durham University.

Mosiah, achieve A in English and History and B in Sociology will be going on to study English at the University of St Andrews

Tyler, who achieved an A in Economics, B in Maths and B in Physical education will now be studying Economics at the University of Southampton.

Likewise, there was huge success for students studying the BTEC National Level 3 Extended Diploma courses which are each equivalent to studying three A Levels.

For the Business qualification:

Jay achieved the highest possible grade of triple Distinction* and will now be studying Business Management at Queen Mary University.

Josue-Magord, achieved Distinction*/Distinction*/Distinction and will also be heading to study Business Management at Queen Mary University.

Jannah , Cheick , Aaliyah, Abigail  and Eva, who all achieved Distinction*/Distinction/Distinction.

In the Health and Social Care pathway: Vidhi Patel achieved Distinction*/Distinction*/Distinction and will begin at City St George’s, University of London  studying Psychology with Criminology. While Rezwana, Favor and Sara all achieved Distinction*/Distinction/Distinction.

 

GSCE Results 2025

This year, nearly half of Year 11s (49%) achieved a grade 5 or above in both English and maths, with three-quarters (75%) achieving at least a grade 4 in the two subjects. In English alone, an impressive 80% of students achieved a grade 5 or higher – with a third of the year group (33%) gaining a higher-level grade of 7 to 9.

Other subjects celebrating particular successes include GCSE Chinese, which has been a popular course at the school and which saw 100% of students achieving at least grade 4 this year. Music and performing arts also recorded 100% of students gaining a grade 5 or higher. Likewise, in History, an impressive 55% of students taking the subject achieved a grade 7 or above.

There were some particularly noteworthy individual performances from students, including:

· Aiden and Zieth, who each achieved eight grade 9s and two grade 8s;

· Jennifer, who achieved five grade 9s, four grade 8s and two grade 7s;

· Raqiya, who achieved four grade 9s, five grade 8s and one grade 7;

· Zahrah, who achieved three grade 9s, six grade 8s and one grade 7;

· Pietra, whose results included two grade 9s, one grade 8 and five grade 7s;

· Malaika, whose results included three grade 9s, five grade 8s and one grade 7;

· Habiba, whose results included two grade 9s, three grade 8s and four grade 7s;

· Airoa, whose results included two grade 9s, one grade 8 and five grade 7s.

Across the morning, as students celebrated many of them reflected on the hard work and determination they had put into their studies. They were also keen to thank staff and teachers for the encouragement they had received to be ambitious for themselves.

A Level Results 2024

We are proud to announce another year of exceptional A-level and BTEC results, reflecting the hard work and dedication of our students and staff. This year’s results have exceeded expectations, shown a positive trajectory and continued our trend of academic excellence. The Elms Academy is now the Sixth Form of choice and oversubscribed with over 210 students studying A Levels and BTECs across year 12 and 13.

These figures represent a significant improvement over last year’s results, showcasing our commitment to maintaining high academic standards. The average grade achieved by students this year is a  B, underlining the consistent performance across all subjects.

BTEC and Vocational Achievements:

- Distinction* to Distinction grades: 64%

- Distinction* to Merit: 92%*

 

Our BTEC and vocational students have also excelled, with nearly half securing the highest possible grades, and an overwhelming majority achieving distinctions or merits.

Student Destinations 2024

Among those celebrating was Muntaz, who has secured a place at the University of Cambridge to read Arts, Humanities and Social Science after achieving two As and a B. Likewise, Gabriele’s three A grades have unlocked a place to study Biology at the University of St Andrews.

This continues the trend of ambition The Elms Academy has set for its students around opening doors to the UK’s most prestigious universities. Indeed, across the Sixth Form, half of students who applied to university (49%) have accepted offers at Russell Group universities. This includes:

  • José, who is now going to study Physics at King’s College London;
  • Sumaya, who achieved an A* and two As and has secured a place at Queen Mary University of London to study Biomedical Science;
  • Bradley, who is also going to Queen Mary University of London but to study Accounting and Management, after achieving D*DD;
  • Juanna, who is going to Durham University to study Anthropology;
  • Petro, who achieved three A*s and an A and is now heading to the University of Southampton to study Aeronautics and Astronautics;
  • Akram, who achieved two A*s and two As and will be going to the University of Manchester to study Computer Science;
  • Melanie, who, with three As, is heading to the University of Warwick to study Psychology;
  • Jada, who after achieving D*DD is off to study Business and Management at University of York;
  • Faith, who achieved D*D*D and is going to the University of Birmingham to study Nursing;
  • Amal, who is now going to the University of Nottingham to study Politics and International Relations after achieving two As and a B;
  • Anthony, who achieved D*DD and has secured a place at the University of Nottingham to study Finance and Accounting.

GCSE Results 2024

A third of year group gain a grade 7 or higher in both English and maths.

  • 60% of students achieved a grade 5 or above in both English and maths
  • a third of students (34%) achieved a grade 7 or higher in the two subjects.

Overall, three-quarters of the year group (76%) achieved at least a grade 4 in both English and maths.

One standout student, Zijiao, pick up a clean sweep of the highest possible grades, with eleven 9s. Many others achieved top grades, including:

  • Isabella, who achieved nine grade 9s and one grade 8;
  • Nesrin, who achieved seven grade 9s and three grade 8s;
  • Shalom, who achieved seven grade 9s and two grade 8s;
  • Iris, who achieved five grade 9s and five grade 8s;
  • Bohdan, who achieved four grade 9s and four grade 8s;
  • Telvin, who achieved three grade 9s and five grade 8s.
